Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 24 September 2026
1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Manuscriptchk (the "Service"), operated by Manuscript Technomedia LLP ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account, signing in, or using the Service in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. What the Service is
Manuscriptchk runs an AI-assisted quality-control (QC) check on a manuscript you upload, covering spelling and language, structural quality, a checklist of expected manuscript components, and reference-list validation (including missing and unused citations). The output is a report intended to help you identify avoidable issues before submitting to a journal.
The Service does not guarantee, and should not be understood to guarantee, that any manuscript will be accepted or published by any journal. Editorial and peer-review decisions rest entirely with the relevant journal and its editors. The report is advisory only, and — because it is generated with the assistance of AI — may occasionally be incomplete or inaccurate; you remain responsible for reviewing your manuscript and its final content before submission.
3. Accounts
- You must provide a valid email address and verify it (by one-time code, or by signing in with Google) to create an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account.
- You must provide accurate information and keep your account details up to date.
- We may suspend or terminate an account that we reasonably believe is fraudulent, abusive, or in breach of these Terms.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload content you do not have the right to upload, or that infringes another person's intellectual property or confidentiality obligations.
- Attempt to circumvent payment, for example by sharing, reselling, or abusing access codes.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service, its infrastructure, or its rate limits.
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to upload malicious files.
5. Fees and payment
The Service is pay-per-check: each QC check requires a successful payment (or a valid access code) before it starts. Current pricing, taxes, and how prices may change are set out in our Pricing Policy. Cancelling a check in progress and refunds for failed transactions or failed checks are governed by our Cancellation Policy and Refund Policy. Payments are processed by Razorpay; we never see or store your card, UPI, or bank account details.
6. Your content, our software
You retain all ownership rights in the manuscripts and other content you upload. You grant us only a limited licence to process that content for the sole purpose of generating your QC report and delivering the Service (including sending it to the AI provider used to run the check — see our Privacy Policy). We and our licensors retain all rights in the Manuscriptchk software, report design, and branding.
7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of any QC report. Our total liability arising out of or relating to a specific check is limited to the amount you paid for that check. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including delayed or rejected journal submissions.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time by writing to us. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, suspected fraud, or non-payment, without affecting any accrued rights or obligations (including any refund you are entitled to under our Refund Policy).
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time; the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and any disputes arising from them shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
